Biography

Margaret Ozaki's performing experience encompasses operatic roles including Sophie in Werther, Lucy in The Telephone, Frasquita in Carmen and Naiade in Ariadne auf Naxos, as well as work in musical theater and operetta, most recently creating the role of Hyacinth in the recording of Jarrod Radnich's new musical Macaw. Concert performances include Handel’s Messiah, Poulenc’s Gloria and Shostakovich’s From Jewish Folk Poetry. Special interest in new and contemporary works have drawn Margaret to the works of contemporary composers including Michael Torke and Minoru Miki. Margaret holds voice degrees from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (D.M.A., abd and M.M.) and Lawrence University in Wisconsin (B.M.). She was recipient of the Denver Lyric Opera Guild Competition Second Prize in 2007. Other training includes Cincinnati Opera/CCM Fusion Program, Chekov Acting, Janiec Opera at Brevard Music Festival, MusicX/05, Grandin Vocal Chamber Music Festival and SongFest. Professional chorus experience includes the Vocal Arts Ensemble of Cincinnati, Cincinnati Opera, Dayton Opera and Opera Colorado. Ms. Ozaki is originally from Golden, Colorado and currently resides in Cincinnati, Ohio.
